The Opportunity

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Controller to lead our client’s accounting team and ensure the integrity of their financial operations. This is a critical role for a finance professional who excels at managing complex accounting processes, driving compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making. The Controller will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls while fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a leadership role, and is passionate about maintaining the highest standards of financial excellence.

 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, promoting professional growth and a collaborative work environment
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to provide financial insights and support for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, audits, and compliance with all financial regulations
  • Implement and optimize accounting systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Manage cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies

 

What We Need From You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA is strongly preferred)
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (Controller or similar)
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Proven experience managing month-end close processes and preparing financial statements
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and advanced Excel skills
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and compliance
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Industry-specific experience is a plus but not required
